Embrace Ministry is committed to providing a safe, confidential, and welcoming space for parents and relatives of LGBTQ+ Catholics. Here, we can share our experiences, ask questions, and receive spiritual support rooted in our Catholic faith. No one should ever feel alone in this journey.
This year, we are introducing a brief educational component at each gathering to help parents deepen their understanding of scripture and the teachings of the Church. We hope to equip parents with greater confidence as they navigate the intersection of faith and LGBTQ+ realities, always grounded in the assurance that they can love their child and their Church wholeheartedly.
In September, we will reflect on the introduction to Fr. James Alison’s You Can, If You Want To: Navigating Christian Faith, Conscience, and Matters LGBTQ+. Reading the book beforehand is encouraged but not required.
In October, we will offer the same introductory discussion in Spanish so parents may participate in their preferred language. As always, each meeting will include time for introductions and personal sharing.
El Ministerio Embrace está comprometido a brindar un espacio seguro, confidencial y acogedor para padres y familiares de católicos LGBTQ+. Aquí, podemos compartir nuestras experiencias, hacer preguntas y recibir apoyo espiritual arraigado en nuestra fe católica. Nadie debería sentirse solo en este camino.
Este año, estamos incorporando un breve componente educativo en cada reunión para ayudar a los padres a profundizar en su comprensión de la Sagrada Escritura y de las enseñanzas de la Iglesia. Nuestra esperanza es ofrecer a los padres mayor confianza mientras navegan por la intersección entre la fe y las realidades LGBTQ+, siempre con la certeza de que pueden amar plenamente a su hijo(a) y a su Iglesia, sin reservas.
En el mes de septiembre, reflexionaremos sobre la introducción del libro escrito per el P. James Alison You Can, If You Want To: Navigating Christian Faith, Conscience, and Matters LGBTQ+. Se recomienda leer el libro con anticipación, aunque no es obligatorio.
En octubre, ofreceremos la misma reflexión introductoria en español para que los padres de familia puedan participar en el idioma de su preferencia. Como siempre, cada reunión incluirá tiempo para presentaciones y para compartir experiencias personales.
